The last 24 hours, all eyes on this years’s 2025 Met Gala Ball red carpet looks. Eyes were and are still glued on social media platforms, fashion magazines websites and bloggers for the red carpets looks. The theme for the year was “black style and tailoring”
Below are my top 5 favourite MET GALA 2025 looks and the celebrities who wore them.
LAURYN HILL stepped out at the MET GALA 2025 in Spring’s trendiest colour: Butter Yellow. The outfit included a double-breasted suit jacket and wide leg pants, including a sculptural cape that was attached to the jacket.

This year’s Met Gala theme really hit home for me, because as a CONGOLESE FASHION CREATIVE who grew up witnessing my fathers, mothers, uncles and aunties as “sapeurs” / “dandy”, and seeing all the “Sape” inspired outfits really reminded me of my Congolese background personal style identity. So, I had to quickly revisit my “photo archives” where I wore and styled some tailored outfits in the last couple of years.

NO CONGOLESE FASHION ICONS AT THE MET GALA 2025?
I was quite disappointed not to see Congolese Fashion Icons superstars such as DIDI Stones or Fally Ipupa. Hopefully, the home of “SAPE” “DANDY” countries, Congo Kinshasa / Congo Brazzaville will be represented at the Met Gala 2026.
